Our Referral Paradox series of workshops are really taking off! Nothing like some good contradictions to get entrepreneurs seriously focussed on the future of their business. Here are some long-term ABSL* participants clarifying some key points at recent gatherings –

If you want more referrals, stop networking and stay away from your potential customers.
When someone can make a great referral for you to a new client, make sure they do nothing about it.
To activate sources of referrals, say a lot but say very little.
Look for referrals but don’t look for business.
All this seems contradictory but is nonetheless true…
